9/21/1967"Man 'Walks Alone' Protesting TV's Negative Racial Attitude"Los Angeles SentinelSongwriter Ka Sandra protests outside the CBS Columbia Square located at 6121 Sunset Boulevard, against what he called “television’s negative racial attitude.” He carried two protest signs that read, “T.V. Causes Riots,” and “Stupid Blacks Heard on TV. Negative News on Positive Blacks. Unheard. Out. Off.”
5/29/1986"Jackson Leads CBS Picketing"Los Angeles SentinelReverend Jesse Jackson joins the protests outside the KCBS-TV’s studios at 6121 Sunset Boulevard demanding changes to their hiring practices. He and other picketers accuse the network of “failing to hire sufficient Black anchors, managers, and other personnel,” as well as bias in reporting news concerning Black people.
3/26/1987"KCBS-TV Wants Insurance Complaints"Los Angeles SentinelKCBS-TV Channel 2 reporter Tom Vacar requests that Southern Californians send in letters about insurance in order to change how the state regulates and legislates. All complaints and letters should be sent to the KCBS-TV offices at 6121 Sunset.
