1/16/1998"Sindicato y hoteles llegan a nuevo acuerdo laboral [= Union and Hotels Reach New Work Agreement]"La OpiniónHyatt on Sunset (8401 Sunset Boulevard), along with five other hotels, reaches an agreement with the union of hospitality workers, guaranteeing benefits for immigrant workers.
3/4/2009"A Quieter Riot"The AdvocateThe new Andaz Hotel, located at 8401 Sunset, opens. Occupying the former “Riot Hyatt,” where 1970’s rock stars like Keith Richards and John Bonham "tossed televisions off balconies and rode motorcycles through hallways," the hotel offers "an outpost of sophistication and gay sensibility" in contrast with the "disco lighting and pounding techno" of other "hip" hotels, including those along Sunset Boulevard that cater to the straight population of West Hollywood.
